October 16 – The planned cannabis greenhouse meeting in La Cienega will take place on Zoom on Wednesday.
A 5,400-square-foot cannabis greenhouse to grow 2,000 plants is proposed on 95.83 acres off West Frontage Road along Interstate 25, about halfway between NM 599 and Entrada La Cienega exit 271. It borders the property
Las Golondrinas Road and Valle Bonita.
The project is seeking a conditional use permit from Santa Fe County to build the greenhouse on residential property zoned.
A July 2021 Santa Fe County cannabis ordinance will treat cannabis greenhouses the same as other commercial greenhouses. A conditional use permit for cannabis greenhouses is permitted in unincorporated Santa Fe County in the rural residential, rural fringe, residential, and residential community zones.
Santa Fe County — not including the city of Santa Fe — has three indoor cannabis cultivation centers, two before the ordinance went into effect and one since the ordinance went into effect, county spokeswoman Sara Smith said.
NM Land Solutions LLC, formerly Siebert & Associates, an urban planning consultancy, is organizing the neighborhood meeting. NM Land Solutions did not respond to requests for comment.
The property is owned by Rancho de Gonzales. Attempts to contact the owners were unsuccessful.
